Anoushka Shankar is a Brit-American sitarist as well as a music producer. She is also the very first and youngest female to win an award from the British House of Commons Award. Anoushka is a native of England and spent a lot of her childhood in between London and Delhi. After that, she relocated to California and enrolled in the high school. at the age of nine, she started studying music alongside her father. Her debut performance on the Sitar was at her 75th Birthday celebration in Delhi just four years later. Accompanying her father as he toured the world Anoushka was able to accumulate a variety of experience performing on stage at Carnegie Hall while still in her teens. She performed at Peter Gabriel's WOMAD festival, and also making recordings alongside George Harrison. Her talent and musicality was recognized by British Parliament as being among the top of the best in Asian Arts.
