Christopher Peter Meloni (born Christopher Peter Meloni) is an American actor who is best known as a character on the well-known TV series 'Law & Order Special Victims Unit. From his early college days Meloni became interested in the field of acting. After that, he attended his home institution, the University of Colorado at Boulder. While he's appeared in both films and television, it is his characters on the small screen that gave him popularity and much fans. He's been able to easily play characters on both sides of the law, and captivate the viewers' attention. His first project was a television serial, however, he was later as a detective with the NYPD. In recognition of his performance on tiny screens, he's been awarded multiple nominations for prestigious Emmy Awards as well as PRISM Awards. He is famous by his blue piercing eyes, which have turned into a signature and helped create a charismatic character for tough roles. The People's Magazine's Sexiest Men Alive 2006 featured his face.
